Lisa Graham worked as a registered nurse for 20 years before discovering her love for painting. It started one evening when out of boredom she decided to try sketching a chair in her living room which led to a series of drawings in colored pencil. At the suggestion of an artist friend that she should try painting, she began exploring with acrylic paint and has been painting since.
Lisa likes to paint the quiet scenes she lives and longs for. Some of these scenes come from life, some from imagination, sometimes from a vintage photograph. She has a love for painting, people, dogs, cats, flowers, nature and chairs, and she loves a pretty room. Working in mixed media and oil on paper, canvas, and wood, her paintings are said to evoke feelings and memories of time and place for others.
In 2011 Lisa started blogging her art which eventually led to opening an online shop on Etsy and to exhibit in various local art shows and venues. Her art is now in private collections all over the world and also a part of the The Art of Emprise collection at Emprise Bank in Wichita.
Lisa lives in Kansas with her husband, dog, and two cats and works quietly from a studio in her home. When she is not painting, she can be found taking long walks, reading, cooking, photographing, video making, and petting her Golden Retriever, Hurley.
